She Kills Monsters, 2018

For my senior show, I chose to blend my passion for theatre and graphic design in the rebranding of my favorite play She Kills Monsters.

In a world filled with male creators for male consumers, my goal was to create a brand that not only represented modern girls and women involved in RPGs and the fantasy genre, but to also create content that feels vintage and well worn. Women have always been the champions of fiction, though they mostly go unpublished. My imagery was designed to evoke a nostalgia for a 90s heroine that women could project onto and celebrate.

I was inspired by comic books, 2D animation, and classic Dungeons & Dragons manuals. I created a poster series that resembles a serialization of vintage D&D adventures by mimicking cell shaded art through limited color palettes and large areas of color lined with black.
